Hybridity is like a mixture, where there are some components of various elements, coming together to form something bigger and more possibly complex. Therefore, the metaphor that represents hybridity is like cooking. There is a combination of various ingredients and condiments to come up with a dish. It involves creativity and integration of ideas, concepts ad principles and tool to expand learning though zones of development. The process of learning itself is a zone for developement and learning too.

An instance that encourages hybridity is the integration of IT into our lessons. By now, we should be pretty aware of the importance of the various modes to aid learning. Relying solely on traditional text for formal instruction is no longer sufficient for effective literacy. We need to keep up with the advancement of technology. For example, technology allows one to share his text and knowledge with a large community. In addition, technology presents facts and knowledge in various modes to support one another in meaning making. As such, it helps create an enriching learing experience for pupils.
